“What do you like best about
readathons? Do you have any readathon traditions or rituals? If this is
your first readathon, what do you like so far?”
I love read-a-thons and have participated in ones that are 24 hours and week long read-a-thons. 24 hour read-a-thons are a little easier to do as I am able to
postpone my daily routines with out any problems but week long ones are
harder as I can't just stop everything for a week. What I like most about them besides the obvious which is reading is meeting new people that enjoy reading as much as I do. From them I am able to find more books to add to my already insanely large tbr pile. Most of my friends don't really read so we never talk about books. I read every night but read-a-thons allow me to read a lot more through out the day as I set aside more time for reading so I can reach my read-a-thon goals.
For week long read-a-thons I don't really have any traditions or rituals. For 24 hour read-a-thons I make sure to have plenty of snacks, coffee, energy drinks and water readily available so I have the energy to stay awake for the full 24 hours. Plus my husband always makes sure to take care of lunch, dinner and make sure I am supplied with the snacks and drinks I mentioned.
I hope everyone is having fun! Happy Reading!!
Oooh, I totally would do a readathon but never done one! Sounds good!
