November Photo Scavenger Hunt

Thanks again Kathy of Postcards from the P.P for hosting this scavenger hunt. Here is a link to other participating blogs.

a poppy

Not sure where I would find a poppy flower this time of year so instead I decided on using a poppy seed bagel.

This is a picture of the United States Memorial Arch which is located in Valley Forge National Historical Park and was erected to commemorate the arrival of George Washington and his Continental Army into Valley Forge.

Here is a close up of whats engraved at the top of the Arch. You can click it to enlarge it.

For most of the month I thought it was shadow and not silhouette so I took a shadow picture. When I was going over the list to see what I had left I noticed it was silhouette.  I tried using the sun as many guides say to take a picture of a silhouette but I couldn't get it to work so instead I did it using a lamp and a sheet as another guide suggested.

Here is the one for shadow.

something you have made

I am making journals to include in some goody boxes I am making for some friends.

something purple

This is a picture of purple listerine in a shot glass.

A fireplace would have been great for this but we don't have one and I don't know anyone who does.  So instead here is a picture of Coco warming up with a blanket.

polka dots
I had originally planned on taking a picture of a local building that was painted in polka dots but when we went there it was no longer polka dotted; it was just a plain solid color. So below was the best I could do.  Its scrapbooking paper.

a lucky charm

I don't have a rabbits foot or any other lucky charm.  I couldn't figure out how I would do this so I looked up lucky charms to see if there were any I wasn't thinking of.  I found out that wish bones are lucky charms.  So here is the wish bone from the turkey on Thanksgiving.

comfort food

One of my favorite comfort foods are buttermilk pancakes.

a staircase

This is the staircase in the house we live in.

something that lights up

a self portrait

I hate self portraits.  So I was not thrilled about doing this.  My husband suggested I be creative with the self portrait.  So I decided not to do a traditional one. This didn't come out how I wanted it to but it was the best I could do with a migraine.  Oh and writing with the non-dominant hand is a pain.  I might have tried again but with only a few days left I didn't have time.  You can click the image to see it better.

  1. Great photos, I love the warmth one and your self portrait.

  2. Well done. I love your novel approach to many of them especially the self portrait.

  3. Great shots - you're so creative! Love your take on Poppy, the silhouettes scared me to death, and your selfie is fab!

  4. I like your take on the self portrait - really clever.
